The format

120 start. One survives.

Every runner opens with a full, un-eliminated mile — it sets the seeding and the first points. From there the field is cut round by round until eight runners left standing race one last mile for the title.

Round 1Champion

  1. The Opening Mile

    120 runners / 6 heats of 20

Everyone runs a full mile. No eliminations — finishing position sets the opening points standings and seeds the rounds that follow.

  2. Elimination Mile

    120 runners / 6 heats of 20

Three runners are cut at the end of every lap. The top 8 from each heat advance — 48 runners remain.

    20 → 17 → 14 → 11 → 8

  3. Elimination Mile

    48 runners / 4 heats of 12

Two runners are cut at the end of every lap. The top 4 from each heat advance — 16 runners remain.

    12 → 10 → 8 → 6 → 4

  4. Elimination Mile

    16 runners / 2 heats of 8

One runner is cut at the end of every lap. The top 4 from each heat advance — 8 runners remain.

    8 → 7 → 6 → 5 → 4

  5. The Championship Mile

    8 runners / 1 final

The final 8 run one last mile — no eliminations. The top male and top female by accumulated points are crowned Individual Champions.

The team competition

40 teams of 3. One score.

Every runner races for themselves and for two teammates. Points keep counting toward the team total long after any one of you is out for the night.

01

Every runner is on a team of 3

40 teams, 120 runners. Your team's final score is the combined points of all three teammates — from every round any of you finished.

02

You still count after you're cut

Elimination ends your night, not your scoring. Points earned in rounds you completed stay on the team total through the final gun.

03

Minimum 1 female runner

Every 3-person team must include at least one female runner.

04

Teammates run separate heats

The bracket splits teammates across different heats wherever possible, so you're never racing your own team for points. As the field narrows, full separation isn't always mathematically possible.

The point system

Every finish counts

Points are awarded by finishing position within your heat, every round you run — they accumulate all night toward both titles.

The rules

01

Elimination on the line

The trailing runners are cut at the end of every lap, judged on the timing line — not on a marshal's opinion.

02

Points every round

Finishing position inside your heat earns points in every round you run, win or get cut — there's no round that doesn't count.

03

Three titles up for grabs

Top male and top female by accumulated points are both crowned Individual Champion, alongside a Team Champion decided by combined team score.

04

Final carries extra weight

The Championship Mile counts for more toward the individual title. Exact scoring will be announced before race day.
